The Simpler Things

When you think about it, the world is a consumer. Everyone thrives for fame, fortune, and respect. In a way you're on your own, left out in the cold. When you walk on down the street, how do people look at you? How do they judge you? Only by what you look like, right? What you HAVE.

I remember when I was alot younger, probably 8 or so, and my younger brother was about 5, we moved into a new house. A beautiful one, with all wood floors and chandeliers and lofty celings. All top of the line applinences too. When the huge 1000 dollar refrigerator arrived, my brother and I rejoiced! Our parents smiled, to see us happy. The same day, a big TV arrived. Even more happiness. The fridge was installed and the Tv was hooked up, and everything fit together. The fridge had more room than any other! The TV had better graphics than any other!

For the next week, my brother and I sat outside in the driveway playing all day long in the huge cardboard boxes they came in.

There is something to be said for this. Isn't it amazing how the littlest things can satisfy you? A cardboard box? As kids, we didn't care about the giant appliences and huge TV's. To us, we were rich as kings in a fortress of cheap cardboard.

God calls us to be greatful and thankful. Learn from this and learn from children. Alot of times it's the Simpler Things in life that make you the happiest!

Enjoi.
