I've had a dog now, for only about 5 months. It still is a relatively new thing for me, but it's been wonderful. And today, just sitting there looking into Rudy's eyes, I felt loved. Loved by Rudy, and loved by God.
A dog's love is so innocent and pure. In your dog's eyes, you have no faults, there is no reason not to love you. Wether you've been gone for five minutes or abandoned him for five years; he'll always come right back to you. He'll always let you in and welcome you to his heart. There is a bond there that is so unbreakable; it just seems so remarkable to me.
The point in this is not just the earthly love of human and canine. Its about how dogs show us how God loves us, always. Even when we stray from him. Even when we blatantly disobey him and sin. He loves us so much that we can never be free from him. He'll always be there, through the hardest times of your life and you can always seek him for help.
Rudy is here, I belive to show me and remind me how much God really loves me, his creation.
So next time you look at your beloved dog, look into his eyes and think how much you love him and how much he loves you.
